Adventures in Finger Painting

We needed a project. It's been so stinking hot outside, even if we're playing in the pool. So today we decided (or I decided) finger painting could be fun.

I found a simple recipe for some edible finger paint here:  http://thediymommy.com/make-edible-finger-paint/
The entire time I was mixing it up, Mady kept saying "snack"! She was ready to eat it! I showed her the real purpose of this fun colored goo and off she went!

At first she was a little hesitant. She does not like being dirty and kept putting her hands out saying "YUCK". But I gave her some encouragement and demonstrated covered my fingers.  In no time she was having a blast!

Within no time, she was tired of painting
and decided sticking her hands in each bin
and moving them around was much
more fun!

Then she decided to paint herself.                                                          And of course, squishing between
"Elbow, tummy, cheeks" she said.                                                                          her fingers was a blast!

It was so exciting to watch her explore, manipulate, discover and create! She is absolutely amazing!

and GORGEOUS! :)

"All done, Bop"!                                                          And straight to the sink!!
